Takes pay in hand wood logs. I continue to have "ups and downs" as usual. Have been down since I wrote you last and am coming up now. guess I will coax Samuel to finish this letter. I have my worst trip now to make shall start next Monday and be away some three weeks, do not know just what will be my business next season suppose I can survey some if I wish I am getting about 100 hand wood logs beech, birch, & maple will cost me here about $6 sawing $3, other expenses $1. total $10. the plank will be worth $14 & $15, I lose none of the logs in getting them down it will
