User-Contributed Transcription Guess there are some pretty good sort of people here - but don't know much about them? I want to tell you beforehand, Mother, so you will have your mind prepared, that you will be expected to make quite a stop in Hampden before you return to Milo. I don't know as I can say any more tonight - perhaps Samuel or Joseph will fill this out. Write again soon won't you Isaac? I'll write by Ann perhaps - Good night - Affectionately, Lucy.Saturday Morning Lucy is preparing breakfast. Joseph gone after Cul. and I will try to divert you with some of my reflections. I think there is much of misery and wretchedness in this world and more of happiness, and whether we have more of the one or the other depends wholly upon ourselves. I suppose it is true that in some relations of life our happiness is dependent upon others than? ourselves, but even here we have a power to exert upon ? which if we properly apply must result in the happiness of ll. If we find our cup to be bitter upset it, pour it out, or break it, do not drink it there is no necessity for it, carry it to a fountain whose waters are sweet and will be a well of water springing up into eternal life. I find I've not more time to write this morning I must away to the mill see my part? if there should be any who are not sick. There are a large number at present on the sick list. Good Morning S.W. FurberSamuel is quite a Philosopher, is'nt he? Lute.
