Milo July 24th 1847.Very dear Brother The spirit moves me to commence a letter to you in answer to yours of the 3rd inst., which is, I think the last one I have recieved from you. Perhaps it may be foolish in me to write just now, as we hope you will be at home so soon; and very possibly I should not, if you did not complain so; bitterly of my neglect; which complaints, however, I think are unfounded or nearly so, as I believe I have recently answered your letters pretty soon after receiving them. Have I not? We rec'd yesterday a good long epistle from you. With regard to pecuniary matters, you don't know how glad I should be to assist you, or to have you assisted, but as it is entirely out of my power to do anything, I may not waste words or useless wishes and consolings, though I do hope Charles will be able to do something for you soon. He thinks, talks and concludes a great deal about it, and really wants to pay you but I fear if he succeeds in doing anything, it will be a little too late. He is a dear good brother willing to do - all he can. I hope you will succeed in getting a good situation on Rail Road, as it would, I should think, be pleasant, and probably more profitable employment than teaching. You ask several questions in your last, which I will answer in their order. Fences are nearly
