Our Dear Lucy A. Searles is gone The Savior has taken her to his Fathers House. One of the finest of Earth has passed away. Gone like a morning cloud, full of light. How happy for us that we can feel from our hearts that she has suffered no loss. hers is gain, infinite gain. She [smudge of ink] with typhus fever soon after comeing home from Foxcroft about two weeks since. the first we knew of her sickness was last week, when Charles was down. Anna went up with him Thursday. Mother went [tear in paper] by stage Monday got to Almedia's just to see her pass away She died Monday Eve at 10 o'clock. How little prepared were we to have her go we have rec'd a number of Good letters from you lately for which accept our hearty thanks. Lucy is as well perhaps as we can expect not able to walk much yet. The boy is doing finely. Eliab started last Thursday for the western part of Penn. to look at some timber land and mill privileges which we think some of purchasing of which I will write you more soon Much LoveS.W.F.
