User-Contributed Transcription Lucy & Samuel } BangorDec. 28, 1854" 30, " DunbartonDEc. 28 the 1854 Sister Nettie. I took Lucy's letter this morning for mailing and finding it unsealed, thought I would like to say "Good Morning" to you and Corrie. I am glad for you that Isaac is so soon to come home. How much happiness there is in anticipating such events, almost enough to balance the trial of a few months seperation. I sometimes think that really good grows from these events which for the time we consider so grievous, that we can learn better how to prize dear friends in their absence than when they are even with us, that our love is strengthened by being frequently tested and put to vigorous work. We are anticipating a good time when you and Isaac shall be here and moreover we believe we shall realize our anticipations, shall we not? We are to have a Social Gathering of our Society at the vestry next Tuesday Evening, we think much good may be made to result from these gatherings if conducted in a right Spirit and the partition fence of Etiquette be not luged in, but in its place Christian sympathy be allowed "free course" we in this place need the social influence of such meetings more than they are needed in county towns
