User-Contributed Transcription can think. The noise he makes mostly about his play is a sort of gutteral grunt continued as long as he can hold his breath. He had two cunning little teeth, & others almost through. He was christened a fortnight ago tomorrow- was just as good as baby could be. At five months he weighed almost 20 pounds. Don't you call him a great nice baby. His eyes at a little distance look quite black, but nearer are a decided gray. Samuel and I went to a musical concert last evening - gone more than three hours. baby slept some & waked some - good all the time. I do so want to see your little (Du Coigne, I call him) that I can hardly wait. You will come next summer, won't you? I do hope you will all escape the ague - it would be so hard for baby. Lizzie is a dear good little thing - but she is "so ittle" - she is not healthy. I don't think she will live many years. She is held up as a pattern of goodness in school here. Strange news from Milo. Mrs. Dr. Kimball has been accused of stealing, her house searched & various articles found belonging to other persons. A part of them she tried to account for. The Dr.
