User-Contributed Transcription I could- my hand trembles so I can hardly make letters. Poor little Percie is sleeping now - he has been miserable ever since Anna went away. We think he is really better though, yesterday & today, He only weighs 18 1/2 pounds - and so poor and pale. But 'tis cooler weather and we hope he will grown strong and well now fast. I rec'd your darling good letter of the 21st yesterday - had been looking for it many days. We have all been negligent and thoughtless about making acknowledgements. Love letter to Eliab was rec'd. I don't know why he did not do anything about it, but suppose it was because of the uncertainty of Dr. De Witt's going to Dunbarton and from what you wrote. I guess he thought you did not need the money at present and he would not send it by mail. The Magazine has also been received - so all is right. Mallie also has rec'd the long letter. I rejoice that
