User-Contributed Transcription presentiment of evil. You know he rarely worries about anything beforehand. Stephen Kittredge died rather suddenly at Milo of typhoid fever, sick only a fortnight - had been but three weeks home from Europe. It is a sad blow to the family. Fevers are very prevalent up country - scarlet fever & measles are about here. Walter Rider cut his knee badly thanksgiving day - It is now a bad scrofulous sore. He has suffered very much - The Drs. are fearful that he may lose his knee, though they hope it is a little better. Dr. Mc.Ruen is going up to see it if it is not decidedly better soon. How dreadful the scrofula is! How thankful I am that Almeda does not have children! Samuel went to Searsport last week Wednes. to load a vessel with lumber, back Saturday because Percie was sick, away again[left-hand side]Your loving sister-Lucy.
