User-Contributed Transcription Homeopathy a "mistreatment" system in general, though he says those physicians do sometimes give medicine like others - he has detected them in it, etc. He says in many cases it is just as well, for medicine had done as much harm as good in the world. He says the danger now with Percie, is, Marasmus; a wasting away of the flesh & blood without much pain - has been so long in this state - so much action in the bowels that the food does not nourish him; is digested in the stomach, but passes off through the bowels without making flesh and blood. He seems bright and playful a good deal of the time, has a pretty good appetite, but is poor, pale and weak; don't want to get down at all; calm, patient, pleasant - too much so, as the Dr. says; takes & does anything we want him to but has these constant and unnatural discharges - yesterday a little bloody and we though the dysentery was coming on, which was the reason of our sending to Dr. McRuen; but he had had not more bloody discharges. Well, I am filling up my letter with Percie: but I could not help it, for my mind and heart are full of him. I don't know as he is any more loveable than Mayo, as you say, Isaac, only of course to his father and mother, none other can be so precious. He is, and has always been, a dear good little boy. I suppose, of course,[left-hand side]Percie's head & neck are perfectly wet with perspiration when he sleeps or when he is tired a little, his hands & feet hot and dry, arms and legs almost always cold.
