User-Contributed Transcription you know Charles does not like to have us use Farmers. A Scatsquiz or a Gazette or some such commodity would be very acceptable once in a while. Mother says better not sign Lucy - so you may put Sally or Betsy, George or John, or nothing just as you please; or three straight marks, thus, _ _ _. You can take the things out of the Kaleidoscope sometimes and put some flower petals and small green leaves instead. & make it look very pretty. Mother says remember & send some papers now and then if you can get any. I had a paper from De Wolfe & Miss Tash by last mail. We also rec'd a letter from Joseph, which we put in the bundle. I intended to have marked your linen, but you were away part of it & the rest mother packed in before I knew it; however, I can mark it next fall just as well. Our good friend James McSellan came not back according to agreement. Charles is going to Bangor Monday. The School Agent Joseph speaks of, has not written - has probably engaged a Teacher before now: Charles is going to see about it when he goes down. I want to remind you again about calling with Mr. Tash at Mr. Parker's. You orter. Sat. morning- Mother hardly knows what to do about sending bundle as it is so rainy, but I think she will, so I will finish my letter. We send some nice new shirts, you see, also some old ones for night-shirts. It is more genteel you know to dirty two shirts per week! I have written to Miss Tash - you can hand the letters to her, or to her brother. I feel as if I had not seen you for a long time & want to write a great parcel, but cannot spare more time now, as we have got to get Joseph's trunk ready to send by Charles Monday. Good bye affectionately Sister Lucy.P.S. Remember to burn this letter quick
