User-Contributed Transcription LucyApril 18 55 Bangor Apr. 18 - 1855Dear Charles & Albina It is almost night, but I'll try and get off a bit of a letter to you before dark. I did intend to write so as to send it by today's mail, but Maria and the baby were up here all day, and we had so much talking to do, as usual, that we did little else. We confidently expected Isaac and Nettie yesterday - are now expecting them tomorrow. Eliab sent up a letter for Isaac today, which we suppose will start him - away- I know nothing about it, however, only that it was from Col. Mason. We are hoping to see Mother with them, but she has not written a word of her intentions. I think Mother ought to spend her time just where she pleases, don't you? I am sure I[left-hand side and top] thing more in especial to write- Am very sorry Albina about the chicken wings, but the animals came when we had just bought a whole mutton & half a pig & dared not bring them home, so he sold them, & he never noticed the wings. Do please all write to me. Lovingly sis Lucy. I could not write the filthy story once again about Jane to Almeda - won't you send her the letter I wrote you or tell her all about it when you see her.
