User-Contributed Transcription a common dress suitable to ride in. Were I in Almeda's place, and needed another dress, of whatever kind, I would have it; but nice silk dresses are comparatively little needed in the country, and with all slightly unsuitable, as a general thing, to crowd into a carriage with a family and ride four miles to meeting. However she knows better what she wants than I do. I should think Anne's shawl would be just what she needs. When is she coming down? does she wish these things sent up before she comes? Have you rec'd my last extremely fleshy letter yet? We have not heard a word from Eliab yet. I some expect him tonight. I sent the pillow to take care of the parasol! Our house is entirely finished and painted outside - woodshed, piazza etc. Mr. Wiggin will finish plastering today probably - then Mr. Tebbets will go to work on the inside. We are going to have the walls of the kitchen painted all over. William Crosby wishes to know when Isaac is coming back, as he will come up here and see him. Margaret does not
