User-Contributed Transcription week would be about right to give her. That is what the Doe girl was coming for & she, having worked here, would certainly be worth as much as a green girl. Percie worries a good deal more than before he was weaned. I suppose his Mother's milk had an effect to keep him good natured! I have to give him a good deal of cracked wheat and molasses to keep his bowels in order, and I am a little suspicious that the wheat is too coarse fodder for such a little chicken. Do you know? If Maria comes I do not want to engage her for any time, as perhaps I shall only want her a few weeks, & perhaps I may want to train her in and keep her to take Isabel's place when she goes away. I don't know when that will be. She is a Farris, and make it manifest once in a while. Don't say one word to Mrs. Sargent about her staying or leaving or anything about it.If Almeda wanted Lizzie to come, & she would be contented, there would be nothing hard for her to do, but I suppose she wants her at home. For me it is hard to lead baby by this two hands, or stoop every few minutes, as somebody must, to pick up something, or run and get him dry dipes and milk, but for a well back it would not be. He weighs but 21 pounds -- 1 months, 2 3. He looks very thin compared with last winter. I weigh only 113 pounds. What cold weather we have had - seems a little warmer today. Shall try to write to Albina soon. Much love Lucy.
