Prof. Sheppard preached all day yesterday on giving, in the morning he showed the necessity of supporting Home Missionary enterprises. "Preach the Gospel to all nations beginning at Jerusalem (at home). On the afternoon the Philosophy of giving, "Give alms of such things as ye have and behold all things shall be clean unto yo." The advantages of giving from some Fixed principle rather than from impulse, he thinks every Christian should
