User-Contributed Transcription Cuba that we heard about lately - she said if she had been in this country she should have taken her in a moment - her only fear was of the Spanish temper. In that respect I imagine she would not go beyond Jane. When I read of "Juliet" in "Retribution," I thought the character & temper was one drawn, bit I don't know but there are some as ? wild & ungovernable as hers was represented. I have forgotten whether I wrote you in my other letter about my turn over. Maria & I were going to make some calls alone with Nelly. I started from here to go after Maria, got down as far as tje Mail road bridge when hearing a noise of wheels & shouting, I looked back and saw a double team, driverless, running down the hill. I drove up on the side walk & got out of the way as much as I could, but they came against the back wheel of my waggon, throwing it round half across the street & turning it over; as it turned, I "stepped out," and then found myself standing upright in[left-hand side] we meet in the vestry while the house is repaired. Our new Organ - a pure white, with gilding is set up. The sermon on sacred song has been preached.[upside down] your mind to come back here by and by.
