User-Contributed Transcription Bangor May 3, 1851 Bangor May 3rd 1851.My dear people all It is just after dinner, and I conclude if I am to write by Monday's mail, it is time to be about it. We journeyed very comfortably indeed, considering - stopped at Parson Kale's to dinner. They were very kind indeed - laid down and rested nicely - nearly two hours. From there we journeyed to Lissie Doe's, where they almost per force of arms compelled us to stop to tea, though we had about decided in our own minds not to do so. Had a nice time. - laid down & rested and Lizzie brought my supper to me. Mrs. S. is there - going to Portland after helping Lissie pack. The hardest time I had was getting over the river! We arrived at this very pretty, cozy and comfortable place a little after sunset. I was, as I expected, very tired, and feel rather sleepy and pounded today. I did not really lie down but a little while, though I could do so very comfortable, but I leaned into Samuel's lap on or his shoulder considerable. He carried me all about the house this morning. I really like it better than the house in Hampden. It is a fine airy situation - perfectly convenient & comfortable below, and chambers very much prettier than at Hampden. It hardly seems like
