User-Contributed Transcription kill the chickens. It is not my practice or principle to write letters Sunday, but I want to have it ready to go, because there is a chance to send to Bangor, for tomorrow's mail. The only news I have to relate, is that John had given up his school, it was a large and knowing school, 70 scholars. he could not manage them - had no authority, - came here last night - at the close of first week; feeling bad but not more so than his father will, I dare say. I wondered that they did not feel more misgiving about his first sally - almost expected he would fail. Samuel feels bad, has written to Isaac to take him into his employ if he can do so, which I hope he will, for John's sake, for he need the discipline knowledge and experience that business would give him, but if Isaac has not already engaged his part, I fear he will not want him however Samuel has written to day to his father to send his clothes Tues. so as to be ready to start with Alfred if S. writes for him. Jane has got well is pretty smart. Ann
