He just brought up a letter from Charles, which I suppose you will want to see, as I should not probably write today - Your letter to Eliab, received yesterday did us much good, and made us feel bad some too, fearing you are low-spirited. Don't let James and Jane trouble you. I am grieved about them both. I think Sam'l had better make every effort to find a place for Jane. I had a letter from Ann a few days since which I will enclose, also a few envelopes enough to last till Samuel goes up again, when I will send more. Eliab got them for you. We expected Mrs. Palmer to spend the day yesterday, but instead, Mr. & Mrs. Crosby came to dine and Julia Parker to spend the afternoon, all unexpectedly - Julia is a very pleasant girl - good, rather loquacious like her Mother, but the good sense of her father to go with her loquacity. Don't we enjoy our cow? Dr. Paine gave me medicine to relieve Percie's bowels & make his teething easier - has a very sensible & immediate effect - he took a little cold yesterday - the change of air going into the parlor, and a storm coming on too. Eliab is hurrying me so I cannot
