Mencken, Harriet Monroe, Georgia O'Keeffe, Maxwell Perkins, Paul Rosenfeld, Carl Sandburg, Ferdinand Schevill, Roger Sergel, Gertrude Stein, and Alfred Stieglitz. Also significant correspondence with Eleanor Copenhaver Anderson, including "letter-a-day" letters by Anderson to his wife, written in the year before their marriage; manuscripts, typescripts, proofs, printed items, and reprints of Anderson's works; photographs, a tape recording, and videocassette of Anderson, his family, friends, homes, and works; and plaster busts of Winesburg characters sculpted by Anerson's second wife, the artist Tennessee Mitchell. 
Biographical/Historical Note Midwestern writer best known for his work, Winesburg, Ohio (1919).  Active member of the early 20th century realist movement commonly known as the Chicago Literary Renaissance.
