Dear Jack,

I am too lazy to get out the typewriter, please excuse the cursory writing. Reading your newest review last week

in Book Week of the Sun Times, and the arrival today of World Progress, The Standard Quarterly Review
reminded me that I am as slothful as is the getting our of that publication. The issue received is the underline
Summer /underline one that should have be mailed in July.  Your April letter was refreshing. Glad to learn that
you manage to grab off some dollars here and there; I hope you earn them.  I certainly do remember the grandsons;
always thought you were mean to call the one "Jughead".

Saw Win Stracker's picture in the paper; he too is getting old. Remember when I got him out to the Third Unitarian

Church and he had them all singing "I'll be a Methodist till I die."  I [resume you saw the typo in your review of
underline The Coming of the Rain. /underline Last paragraph, first word: Through instead of Though. Your
review of Missouri Bittersweet was missed by me.

Frances and I spent a week in Florida in the latter part of August. Went down to visit her sister in Fort Lauderdale.
