I was tickled to find I could sell 5 to a store in Mexico City. Had heard once that a shop there had a display of one of J's farm books (pub. by Houghton Mifflin) years after it came out. I tracked down the store thru' H-M.
Am finally warming up some on the biog. of Jake that I promised the Akron Library to do. After bumbling around reluctantly for about a year & making do with what I could glean out of other people's heads about Jake's early years, I struck pay dirt with a high-school girl friend who is articulate and had written a study of him. She first saw him when he was 13 yrs old & coming into town on a spring wagon for his first day of high school.
