Dear Jack-
The last sentence
in Bleake's letter has an ominous
ring. Reminiscent of "I've learned
to strike back and rather effectively".
It also portends [?] in a violent
physical sense for the prison involved.
Who could it be? Perhaps
Bleake means to turn one or perhaps
two of his jail-house jockeys[?] loose on
the "jackel who grows too bold".
Whomever it may be.
What[?] has abandoned
all reviews and other literary work,
including his Clayton Vagaries. He
is devoting his time to a [?]
concerning the Dr. to be issued
as a pasquinade.
I'm workin' at
the Callin' during the day and making
a few nites at Beautiful Fairmount Park.
Sure glad I don't follow unitin'[?]
Probably won't
see you until next fall.
Best,
Bud.
