Dear Jack --
I worked yesterday. Opening day, at Hialeah. Like Wally, I was dejected, disporten[[?]] and despaired of ever getting the yoke. But I did work. My connections are very good and may be strong enough to put me on a full time basis. That would be great and bring me in about 90 per week.
Jimmy will probably be interested in the enclosed. I know how bored you are with equines (Reason being that Homeric nite at Fairmount, when you disdained the running of the race) Your attitude is, of course, the correct one. It is a fantastical, stupid sport (Some sport!) designed only for very large [[square]]'s.
