Material documents Elmer Jacobs' career as a free-lance illustrator and designer from the 1920's through the 1970's. Although there is relatively little correspondence, there are significant exchanges with Chicago artist Dale Nichols and designer Hal Higdon. The sound discs contain a 1951 radio interview with Jacobs.
