User-Contributed Transcription June 7th 1846I expect to go to my new boarding p-lace tomorrow dread it some; have had a severe cold since I returned can't imagine how I took it was so hoarse one day that I could not speak at all when I first got up nor scarcely all day: suppose Isaac told about my broken windows, Joseph sent Drinkwater from the store to mend them next day: - suppose it will cost from 1,50 to 2,00: J. has found the names of two or three boys: talks of sending the the bill to each of their father's through the P.O. - 4 of my scholars have left, 3 to go to public school as I expected they would at the end of the quarter. - one George Dillingham whom Lucy will recollect as the pretty curlyheaded little boy has gone to a new private school in a private house near my school; but because they were all small ones and but few of them: had three new ones last week, one is a boy 9 years old will be rather troublesome I expect, but I shall charge $3,00 for him; the two girls are 10 and 4: my school is so far rather easier and pleasanter than before vacation & less in number by three or four: Mary Plummer is only coming to the end of the term or only forenoons afterwards because she is taking lessons in music and wants time to practice: she is qualifying herself for a teacher, and suppose will ere long be a competitor with I really wish Lucy could come as soon as her school closes; it would be such a good thing for her and my
