User-Contributed Transcription pleasant day picnicing at the Junction: it was all arranged hastily the evening before- but by dint of rising early H. & I contrived to have a good large basket full of the 'goodies' (making biscuits & cake in the morning) ready for the rendezvous at Mr. Crane's garden: there were 25 in all: Mr. & Mrs. Jenkins, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbur, all Judge Bliss' family including Mrs. & Miss. Harrison,- the Misses Grandall, Mary Darling, E. Crane, Hattie & Libby, Mr. Nelson, & young Hayhurst also. Isaac. & Charles were invited as being widowered gentlemen as well as Mr. Nelson the Doctor to who promised to go but was prevented by bank business. Charles & Isaac thought they could not leave to go: I was sorry they did not, they would have enjoyed it. We (the ladies) set out with our baskets about ten, spread a table high up on a rock, & dined at 12 1/2 o clock at which time the gentlemen arrived. The weather was chancing, recent rain
