I am glad he has gone there to havea view of knowledge of the great west butI fear he will be too much governed bythe fear of spending too much money as healways has been in great matters to serviceas much benefit from this tour as he ought.He should have had a new suit of clothesthroughout - any man of any pretentious torespectability ought to be able to be decentlydressed when occasions requires even at home& away from home where external appearancesis the thing one is judged by; it is in my opinionmoney out of pocket rather than in, to neglect toappear among men & strangers in the customary plight that others do: I fear he will be rathershabby before winter if out for however muchout of the world Isaac is, he is doubtless everygentleman more or less & facilities for buyingare not found there as at the east.
