He is indifferently called Judge De Witt,& Dr De Witt, both titles belonging to him: he is a nativeof Vermont educated at Hanover & studied medicinewith old Dr. Twitchell of Maine - was for many years a practicing physician though not recently, is connectedwith railroad business, is president the Bank& has an old established apothecaries store. So muchfor his business. He is tall (six feet) rather elegant in figure & muchvery gentlemantly, converses well on all subjects withmuch sincerity of manner and quite a dignified bearing& every thing about him speaks of the real & unaffectedin character & manner: it has however been a verytrying question to me & many of my nights have beenalmost as wakeful as the day, but now all is clear, - Iam satisfied & happy in the lot & portion provided forme so unexpectedly - in the blessing (for so I trulythink it - My Heavenly Father has given me in thenew friend. The consummation is to come sooner than
