User-Contributed Transcription to give her a room on one of the lower floors.& we sent her by Express a pretty, warm, worstedsacque as she complained of taking cold from working in cold rooms & from the coldhalls & passages Her expenses have been more than we expected, averaging nearly twodolls. per week besides regular charges.We begin to think that school not so muchcheaper than others as we supposed- thereare so many extras. We do not intend nowto keep her there another year, but we havebeen thinking it would be better for her tostay at Bangor a few months or even a yearif Eliab & Mallie were willing to take her to board,letting her come right into the family, takingcare of, & waiting upon herself (as she will knowhow to do after a year at Hadly?) going into societya little- just as she would with Maria & her sisters& attending to some branches of study, French etc.We think this if it should be practicable &seems best all around, would do her & as much & moregood with less expense than a year at school& be generally better than making her debut inElyria with old associates etc. Afterwards perhapsher father would give her another year atschool either Holyoke or some other: we have notmentioned these plans to Hattie herself or to any
