Hi Jack:
Can't remember the last time we were in communication--maybe it was when I got out of the Air Force. I meant to write you at Christmas and wrote Alan asking for your address, but his being involved with his woman and your being involved with yours slowed up the information process somewhat. I have heard indirectly thru Dystel that things have become rather thick between you and the woman who, I believe, you were seeing last March when I passed thru New Haven. Perhaps you have heard, also indirectly, of my settling in Seattle and reemployment with the FTC.
Sure would like to hear what your plans are for after graduation and whether there's any hope for your career as a novelist. And where will you be living? More and more it's the where, not what, governing some of our friends' choices - Lew and Alan in Colorado, me, and probably Dystel, in Seattle, etc.
Might as well bring you up to date on what I'm doing. The hike Alan and I took in Rocky Mt. Natl Park in October was my farewell to Colorado -- I then came back to Washington State to look for a job. As Dystel also found, the touch of ivy has less magic in Seattle than in New York or D. C., and the market is pretty small anyway. The
