My Very Dear Friend Ben.

I received your most appreciated book tonight, and the few words that you wrote to me on the inside of the book was better, and done more for me, then all the medicine and treatment that the doctors could prescribe for me. You know that old saying Ben, that one cant exchange old friends for new, sure is a true one. By coincidence I received a letter from an other old friend that I hadn't heard from for some time. I think you may remember him - Harry "Champ" Segal. We had breakfast or lunch with him one day some years back at Sardi's in New York. Do you recall and remember the time? And do you remember Champ? You had quite a conversation with him. And I think that you got quite a kick out of it.

Thanks again for remembering me, and please give my love and good wishes to your lady Rose. And the same to you and Jennie, who probably doesn't even remember me.
