User-Contributed Transcription 2good deal.  How do you like it, Jack?  Did you see the first number of "International Literature" - and the long and not so hot analysis of New Masses for 1931.  It's based on a resolution of the Bureau which is based on a resolution accepted by the NY JR Club which I wrote last winter.  I understand a handsome 22 year old female critic wrote the article so naturally I'll have to have a long discussion of it with her.  My interest in literary criticism grows daily . . .  I liked your last Merc story tho not as well as "Boyhood" or "The Hard Winter" or "Paving Gang".  What are you doing now and how is the book coming on?   You shouldn't let up on it if you can help.  What news have you of Humpy, Joe Kalar, Weiss, etc?  I've been away from things for a while and I'm curious, especially since I don't see much in recent issues of N.M.  Joe K. hasn't been producing for a helluva while and I wonder.  He's one guy who shouldn't let up.  Too valuable.   Let's have word from you.   Regards.Walt Carmon1 Stuyvesant Alley, NYC.
