User-Contributed Transcription [upper right corner:] Bowen, MerlinMay 25, 1984Dear Jack:Walsh received an invitation to the big Catfish Fry that the Univ. of Missouri is -- somewhat belatedly -- holding for you next month. Somehow  I was left off the official list -- though I couldn't have come anyway, for reasons soon to be s stated. But could you see that the sponsoring committee sends a packet of praise for the Sage of Moberly to your devoted Japanese fan, Prof. Kiteh Ohashi, Dept. of English, Keio University, Mita, Tokyo? He will really appreciate it. Walsh was going to bring his invite to the Goodman play he and I were attending yesterday -- but he forgot. He and I are both on tight leashes these days with ailing wives. Betty has been laid up for some months now and seems to be getting no better. Ruth and her visiting nurse sister Beth (with us until tomorrow) made Betty's favorite dessert this morning and were going out to Oak Park to deliver
