It came by a worthy messenger which is the best introduction. Thank you for the warm letter and encouragement. Mrs. ?Frany? at the West End is marvelous traveling for a lady who never made it to the South Side of St. Louis that is. Doug told me you had lived in Chicago for many years, my birthplace. I lived there from '45 til '63 with time out for a couple of yers outside St. Louis and again on the far side of the Atlantic. Anyway I used to frequent 2nd City but it was a couple of generations after the gang of geniuses you mentioned. I lived in LaGrange and a year at 23rd & Hayne amidst the best Italian Lithuanian Mexican restaurants you could find and me the only Irishman. Since then Kansas where I was visiting when you came to Rolla and the Ozarks for the last nine years. There's my geography and greetings to you
