User-Contributed Transcription April 16. 57Dear Bud -    I drew a ten spot today, and feel somewhat shook about it at present.   The barrister that Lew procured was of very little assistance, I'm afraid.  Just one more card in the pack of cards.   Please tell Jack that I would like to put his name on the mailing list, he has long been my favorite stepfather.  Thus I can bedevil him for books.  Tell him, also, that I was crass about 'Cress'  I'm sorry, I rend my garments in shame and contrition.  The book had charm, and I am a troll, but it was such damnably relentless charm.   I shall have a pressing need for reassurance that there are people like you in the world, dear Lorenzo, so I hope you will continue to write.   Later, from the academy.  I leave the 18thever, Jim
