My feeling, I think, is half that of a father to a son, have pure feeling of companionship, as brother.It may be you will escape the dark valley I have been in, that I am walking in now. I have had to fight for and defend the artist in myself.Once Jack Dempsey said a marvelous thing to me. We were both at a photographers. He walked in his quick, nervous half brutal way across the room and grabbed my shoulder. "Were you ever a fighter?"
