User-Contributed Transcription -2-triviality - only thing, I'm nagged constantly by the haunting suspicion that Nelson's scalpel will deal with it in one swift clean operation. Why I'm burdening you with all this I don't know, unless because I'm tired of telling it to myself. Redoubled effort is perhaps the best cure for the vapors.I've added another duty to my endeavors here, that of playing for the colored chain rehearsals and their Sunday services in the prison chapel. That is, it was a duty when I first took it on, but I am finding it increasingly a distinct pleasure. Their simplicity and directness are a bracing breeze after my daily contacts with the familiar transparent chicanery and spiritual bankruptcy of my Caucasian compatriots. And the a cappella singing of both the men's and women's choirs on Sunday are a wonder of pulsing warmth and musical inventiveness, really a delight to hear.Already I am looking forward to your visit in the late fall or early winter. I hope you will be able to make it - you must let me know in good time so that I can arrange a visitor's pass for you. Till then, hearing from you is the next best.ever,JimJames BlakeBox 221Raiford, Fla.52604 - E42
