User-Contributed Transcription 1Mr. Conroy,I finally got your book from the MU library. I think I was wrong about McCarthy tricks in the case of your book. Probably just lousy shelving technique on part of the library staff. About your book, the Disinherited, I liked it very much. You seem to have the capacity of telling a story in genuine human terms. It reminds me somewhat of Steinbeck's techniques. But you do drive home the political point, something Steinbeck doesn't do with the same intensity. I guess thats why "The Distinguished" is called a proletarian novel.I am just now having time to start reading literature after my graduation. Immediately after college I had to re-educate myself to politics. Now that I'm on a track thats logical and fitted to my own pre-dispositions I can read
