My dear Doctor Taylor: -
Your letter of the 12 inst came duly to hand. I should have enjoyed being with you on the occasion of the anniversary at the Commons. I have just been reading the account of it in the Congregationalist and Advance. Now that the war demands are over, I intend to renew my support to the work at Chicago Commons. Though my gift is small, it bears with it great interest in the work and great love for its leader. I have always been grateful that may life came into contact with your own while I was in the Seminary; and the helpfulness of that touch I have tried to pass on to others.
I enclose herewith a draft for thirty dollars to be used where most needed in your work at the Commons.
Very cordially yours
E.B. Cushing
