Summary
List, September 8, 1748, of the losses incurred two years earlier by John Hawks, commander of Fort Massachusetts at East Hoosac (now Adams), Mass., and Moses Scott, a soldier there, when the garrison was captured and burned by a force of French and Indians commanded by the Marquis de Vaudreuil. The delay in reporting losses probably resulted from the captivity of the two men in Canada. List is witnessed by Thos. Wells, justice of the peace in Deerfield, Mass.
