User-Contributed Transcription II.n't rise until after three, and the hotel was in the same building with the theatre, with a hall leading through, after the matinee, as we had so little time before night performance, every one dressed ready for the first act, leaving our make up on, and slipped through the hall to the hotel and had our supper in a large room apart from the dining room. It was like a masquerade, only we were all so cold and hungry, and the theatre was old and poorly built.It is the only way to be thankful for what we have, and to have an ambition and aim in life, otherwise one would drift off into nothingness and have nothing to work for.
