Dear Jack,
I know you don't need thanks, but thanks for the review of Spinoza, and for sending me a copy of it! Except for you, those who would have been friendly to the book, + might have helped it, never had a chance to see it, I believe.
My sabbatical leave finds me full of projects of writing to be completed, but without money to travel (until May, at least) as I'd hoped to do - and also without a publisher eagerly waiting for my next work.
What did you talk about at Carleton? Did you have any prefaced text I could see?
I've put in for grants from two foundations - the Chappelbrook + the Ingram Merrill. Do you know anything about either? (I used your name among references to one of them - being sure you wouldn't mind).
