(Forgive, if you will, this red
ink. My black ink just ran
out. And what's wrong with red?)
Jack Conroy
7027 S. Jeffery Blvd.
Chicago, Ill. 60649
Dear Jack: How long it's been! And how good it is to hear
from you. I hope you did all you wanted to (at least appropriately)
in your trip abroad. And now you are home- in good health?
Nowadays one asks the friends of one's youthhood about health-
sometimes creeps on into the bones.
This is just a note to say hello, and God bless you.
And to say that the circulation dep't promised me you'd get
your copy pronto! And I'm eager to get your reaction to it.
It has met with an overwhelmingly favorable response, I'm
glad to report. And I saw No. 2 should be out
in the middle of next week. And I want your response
to that too! And all that, prior to asking you to
write. [?] [?] will have a piece on the thirties in
Issue No. 3, and I'd like much to have you on
that or some other theme. You may be interested in
Mike's piece is by way of reply to Macolm Cowly's
lugubrious recollections of the Thirties.
Let me hear from you. As ever
Joe North[?]
P.S. How is the paperwork coming in? And
when will the migration book be out?
What else are you doing right now?
