Are you really contented there or only make believe. It seems to me that the idea of making money is all that can reconcile you to staying away off there "1000 miles" out of the world I suppose I might write what would be news to you if I knew how Friend Harlow [your uncle natty] has buried his fourth wife- is sick with a cold & lame himself. he has been very kind and attentive to Sam'l when he was sick offer'd his services in various ways gives us apples & plumbs etc. The Asa Walker place otherwise ancient Harlow place was Sold at Auction yesterday 2600$ to Albert Eewerson tis said that asa & his wife & children are going to California. A great many of the smartest men all about here are going to California they say C. A. Everett, Col. Mitchel, & son, Hector, Jo, & ben Sargent, Henry Thomson, & I dont know how many more from Milo. We want to send you, Newspaper but we dont know whether it would be expedient 3 cents for every 1/2 ounce you know. If you dont get the News you want any easier way we will send, Sam'l takes the New York Independent only - you do get most of the R.R. news do you not - the great R.R. Jubilee celebrating the marriage of the Canadas, & the Ocean, in Boston tis
