User-Contributed Transcription We sent Mr Lyford to St Paul for a coffin, shroud, cap &c and for a few mourning Articles, he was director to a merchant with whom our family are particularly acquainted, with a request to put Mr Lyford in pos) it.The Coffin was neither stained nor painted but covered with black velvet with a deep silk fringe surrounding the lid the inside was lined with white english flannel throughout trimmed with wide white edging, the shroud and cap were equal --You perhaps never saw a person alter so little, her countenance was perfectly natural it seemed to me that a smile played upon her lipsIt is a good consolation to us all to have that evidence that we do have that our dear friend, aye more than friend is freed from all the pains and trials of this life and is transported to the Realms of Bliss, where pain and sorrow are known no more, and I pray God that the event may to those who so deeply loved her form a new link between Heaven and Earth I shall not close this letter untill next Saturday Sept 27th.because I wish to send herewith an Obituary notice which is written by Rev.
