User-Contributed Transcription perfect in mind or manners, and often wonder when considering my own defects, why kind Heaven has granted me so many and so worthy ones. But it is my part to be grateful for them, and endeavor always to merit their esteem, and profit by their superiority. Your manners and conversation, if now, as you have expressed it, but half formed, promise much for the future, - But what are they to this "warm, true heart within"? Far more delightful is it, to "find" and "stir its depths" than to admire pleasing manners, or imposing address. I know full well in my own experience, what it is to feel much more than shrinking nature will permit me to express, by word or act. Can we not, in this respect, make mutual allowance? And in this I do most certainly feel that your charity and forbearance will be far the most severely tasked. Should you know me better, as I am willing should be the case if you desire it to be so, I am sure you will discover much, I fear more than you think, to be corrected and forgiven.Shall be happy to hear from you, and to see you, whenever convenient.Antoinette -
