User-Contributed Transcription hope, said her first impressions were received, while listening to the sermon on the sabbath after my brother died. I do hope we shall yet see still greater things. Three other persons have died within the last three weeks. These occurrences, reminding us so frequently how frail we are, seem to have made a deep impression on many minds. O may it be lasting. Then we shall indeed have cause to bless God even for afflictions. He does know what is best, and it is very, very sweet to trust our all with Him., to feel that we are safe - perfectly sage, always, because God will take care of us. He is indeed good and merciful, and let us love and praise Him more and more. Father, and five delegates from this church, are going to Hopkinton, week after next, - to return the visit we have received. It was at the request of this church that the delegation from H. came here, and they request the return. Is Mr. Simeon Burnham from Manchester one of your company? Some years since he taught school in this town, and my father is considerably acquainted with him. He learned, a few days since, that he was employed on the Central R.R. It is pleasant to hear that your brother is still better. I know you must feel anxious to see him. It is late and I have been sitting here alone, for some times. I must not write much longer. Did you know the pleasure your letter afforded, I do not believe you would think you relinquished the
