User-Contributed Transcription as at first. I was at Mr. Parker's last week, and shall be there one or two days more. Fanny is a dear girl, one could not help loving her. We had a very pleasant walk together, last Friday, after school, went to the woods in search of May flowers. we found an abundance of leaves and buds, but no a single blossom - so we loaded ourselves with evergreen instead. It was Mrs. Frances Chase, who called here with Mrs. Parker. I think her a very pleasant lady - should suppose she had considerable energy and resolutions, - though I have hardly seem her enough to form any opinion correctly. Neither have I become much acquainted with the other Mrs. Chase. Mrs. Parker has another boarder now - a Mr. Johnson came there last week. Mr. Parker's family often speak of you, with interest. {S.S. Sabbath} I have been at meeting all day. The weather has been pleasant and a good many people were out. Since I came home, I have been thinking of those little meetings at Milo and wondering whether you had read a sermon from the National Preacher, to day. It seems you are supplying the place of a minister, now, to the interesting little band of Christians there: I am glad this opportunity is afforded, in which you may so greatly benefit yourself and others. I hope success will attend the efforts making to secure preaching this summer, and that it may prove the means of the salvation of many.
