User-Contributed Transcription meeting to attend is almost unendurable. My sighs and tears and longings for my own dear home, when at the West were nearly limited to such Sabbath. After the house where I was boarding would be full of visitors almost the whole day, and all seemed to feel that it was emphatically the time to feast and make merry - I could hardly realize that I had a Sabbath at all. My uncle, my father's brother, is with us to night, and preaches tomorrow. So father will have a day to rest again- glad of it, for he needs it. Mother is very much better. She had rapidly improved during the last week. Father has taken her to ride almost every day. This does more good than anything else, I believe. We are happy enough I assure you, to have her sit with us again at table, sew a little, talk as usual, and tell Jenny and I - (the housekeepers) how and what to do, hen we are at a loss to know. It is very pleasant to have a counsellor. I am having a very easy comfortable time now, with just enough to do. School is done, and Jenny can help considerable, and little cousin Hattie is gone home to her parents, so that we are but four. We had another letter from George, two or three days since. He seems to be entering with all his powers, into
