User-Contributed Transcription Home. Nov. 1, 1850.My dear friend, I do not know that I was ever in my life, more delighted to see a letter, than I was yesterday, when yours reached me. To day the truth, I had been feeling rather sadly, for I know that you were away from the vicinity of Bradford, and had heard incidentally that you had been at Goffstown & Manchester , and what had become of you I could not conceive. After we learned that the surveying had ceased above Henniker, we expected, for about a week, at every ringing of the door bell, you would enter; and then we began to think that you might have a Report, or Estimates, or something of the kind to occupy your time. But now, the mystery is unraveled, and I ma just as happy as ever. I was at Manchester last Saturday with my brother, and thought a little of spending the Sabbath, but finally we decided to come home. I never once
